Special Counceling

Special Counseling

In addition to learning the German language, it is also important for us to accompany and advise our participants on social issues and problems. The socio-pedagogical counseling in our courses plays a major role in this.

Counseling Services

The special counseling offered by the ISK supports participants in our integration courses in the learning process. Our social workers discuss your learning situation with you and help you develop strategies to improve your German language skills. In addition to questions about the German course, social problems often arise that need to be dealt with. These can include dealing with the authorities, correspondence, the housing situation or financial difficulties. Our social workers support the participants in finding solutions.

Participants can get information about help offers in person or via video conference. The social workers at the ISK support you in problem situations and questions of everyday life.

Migration counseling

In addition to the in-house special counseling services, the ISK cooperates with several migration counseling centers in the Hannover region. The AWO, Caritas, Diakonisches Werk, kargah e.V. and the Landsmannschaft der Deutschen aus Russland (Association of Germans from Russia) expand the ISK's range of counseling services to include additional topics and are in close contact with our social workers. This means that you will always be able to find a competent contact person for all your questions and problems. The migration counseling centers provide support for the following problems, among others:

- Asylum counseling
- Refugee counseling and people without papers
- Securing livelihood
- Participation in society
- Counseling for women
- Professional integration with foreign professional qualifications
- Socio-legal counseling
- Addiction counseling
- Debt counseling

The migration counseling centers offer their counseling in different languages and, if necessary, use language mediators for visits to authorities or doctors.

In order to offer our participants the most barrier-free access possible to this offer, there is a socio-pedagogical consultation hour offered by a migration counseling center every 14 days on the premises of the ISK, whereby we also aim to introduce the participants to a long-term contact point in case of need for counseling.
