telc Competence Center Hochschule
Along with the TestDaF and the DSH, the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule examination is recognized as proof of language proficiency for the enrolment of foreign applicants at a German university. We regularly offer the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule examination at the ISK. In this exam you can prove your advanced German language skills. You need this certificate to study or to pursue an academic profession in Germany.
The telc C1 Hochschule exam is made up of a written and an oral examination.
Written examination (220 minutes)
- Reading, part 1-3 + language elements, part 1 (90 min.)
- Break (20 min.)
- Listening, part 1-3 (40 min.)
- Writing, part 1 (70 min.)
Oral examination usually for two candidates at a time (16 minutes)
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Part 1A Presentation (approx. 3 minutes per candidate)
- Part 1B Summary (approx. 2 minutes per candidate)
- Part 2 Discussion (approx. 6 minutes for both candidates)
The ISK offers the telc C1 Hochschule examination several times a year. Our examination days are Thursday and Friday.
How can I prepare for the exam?
We recommend that you first take part in our Intensive Courses. We will find the right course for you according to your language level in a placement interview. If your knowledge of German is already at the C1 level according to the CEFR, our experienced instructors will prepare you in the best possible way to take the telc C1 Hochschule exam. When does the next exam take place?

How can I sign up for the exam?
Once you have had an individual consultation on our premises or via Skype, you can register for the examination course. Advising and placement is always done by appointment at the ISK on Monday and Tuesdays. When do I get my results?
4 weeks after the day of the exam, you can call the ISK to find out whether your exam results have arrived. If this is the case, you can pick up your telc certificate or your result sheet at the office in Lützowstraße 7 during our office hours.
Can I repeat the exam?
Yes, you can repeat the exam as often as you like. If you have only passed one part (written or oral), you can repeat the other part. The telc examination regulations include certain guidelines for this. We would be happy to inform you about them.
