The German Language Test for Immigrants (DTZ) is taken at the end of the integration course. A "B1" language proficiency certificate is required for naturalisation. Participants in our integration courses and external participants must register for the DTZ in the ISK office in person. The examination fee is paid by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees for integration course participants. External participants are required to pay a fee of € 110.00.
The DTZ is made up of a written and an oral exam. Candidates are allowed 100 minutes to complete the written examination; the oral exam is taken two candidates at a time and lasts for 16 minutes. The ISK conducts the test once a month on fixed dates. Our examination days are Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.
External participants will be charged an examination fee for these examinations; this also includes a prior consultation.
