| Our level system |
| The ISK offers you courses at all levels. The levels of our courses correspond to the European Reference Framework of Languages. The beginners’ level consists of the Beginners 1 (A1), Beginners 2 (A2), Beginners 3 (B1). The intermediate level consists of the Intermediate (B2) and the Intermediate 2 (B2/C1). Our system of levels finishes with the advanced level (C1). |

All German courses in our standard programme take place in cooperation with and within the pedagogic responsibility of the rural adult education of Lower Saxony. |
| Multimedia language training on the computer – at the ISK, you can improve your German with multimedia learning programmes. The multimedia language training is a fixed component of our German courses. You will regularly use the media-room in your course. The possibilities at the computer are manifold: Under the instruction of your trainer, you will do speaking, vocabulary and grammar exercises on the PC or work on an Internet presentation of your course as a group for the ISK homepage. Under "Learner portals", you will find examples of course presentations, which our participants have done. |

Evening courses |
| The evening courses are best for corporate workers, students doctoral candidates and for all those who want to improve their German parallel to their work, training or study. In the center of those courses is the communication at work or at the university. You will learn in small groups at a high learning speed. After you have acquired basix know-meetings, scientific Germin and German for administration will play the main role in the class. |

| Grammar |
| In our grammar and spelling training at the beginners’ level, the basics of German grammar are explained, practiced and trained. The following topics are dealt with: cases (accusative, dative), adjective declination, main and relative clauses, prepositions, tenses (present, present perfect, simple past), articles, orthography (small and capital letters, ss – ß, I – ie – sounds). In the grammar and writing training of the intermediate level, you can improve your spelling and your written style with practical exercises. You will write dictations, letters and essays, correct your own mistakes and practice punctuation. The following topics are dealt with: subjunctive I and II, sentence construction, prepositions, passive. The grammar training takes place in the ISK media-room at the computer desks CALL (Computer-Aided Language Learning). Each participant will be individually taken care of and will receive a training plan at the first lesson, which is checked by the teacher. In addition to this, project groups will be formed which are arranged according to the language level and grammatical focus. Special computer skills are not required. |
